The Rapides Symphony
is strongly committed to the education and development of the Symphony’s
future musicians and audiences. Our educational initiatives include:
• In-School programs – The Symphony utilizes the talents of its
musicians, guest artists, and volunteer docents as musical ambassadors to
the area’s schools. This year, the Symphony’s “Cartoon Classics”
Family Concert was preceded by a fun and educational video presentation to
hundreds of second grade students from throughout Rapides Parish.
• Youth Honor Orchestra -
The best young musicians from the Central Louisiana Area audition and rehearse with
RSO musicians as mentors ending with an annual performance at the Alexandria Zoo. This
lively and casual outdoor setting provides these young musicians with the opportunity
to perform for a varied group of listeners both young and old.
Audition are to be announced.
